Started the day off at Meiji Jingu which is shrine surrounded by a large park. Walked around a bunch and there was some celebration happening at the main temple. There is a tourist center where you can buy souvenirs and have a cafeteria style lunch. I had tempura soba and sat next to a nice old lady. I got some chopsticks made with my name on them both in Japanese and English. After that went to the inner garden which costs 500 Yen and saw a nice pond with coy and a turtle and also took pictured next to an ancient spring that is supposed to bring good luck.
When I arrived at the airport someone gave me a TripAdvisor sponsored pamphlet with a scavenger hunt, so decided to see what that was all about. Apparently if you get stamps in the book for 3 of the 4 locations in Tokyo you win some sort of prize. So went out to Osiage station and found the first stamp, but didn’t leave the station.
Instead decided to go checkout Shibuya which has the busiest crosswalk in the world. It lives up to the reputation for sure. Kinda reminds me of Times Square. It was wild. On top of that there is a really cool food market underground called Tokyu Food Show where you can buy just about anything you want to eat. I’ll definitely be back here when I’m hungry. Found a stand up sushi place called Uogashi Nihon-Ichi and had dinner. Also walked around inside the BIC Camera store which is 6 or 7 stories jam packed with electronics and other crap you don’t need.
At this point my feet really hurt. Oh yeah, and I found Strong Bad in Sumiyoshi Metro Station.
